            Khao Tom Hua Ngok is a simple kind of dessert popular among the Lanna people. It is available in most markets.
 
Ingredients
1. Glutinous rice5 Cups
2. Well ripe Banana10 0
3. Sugar2 Tbsp.
4. Grated Coconut1 Cup
5. Salt1 Tsp.
6. Liquid from Pandan leaves1 Cup

1. Soak rice 2-3 hours and clean.
2. Add liquid from pandan leaves with salt and let set for 10 minutes. Drain.
3. Place two sheets of banana leaves (10” wide) crosswise and put in one handful of rice followed by a piece of banana and another handful of rice on top.
4. Fold the banana leaves to the right and left and then close both ends and tie it with a bamboo strip.
5. Boil 1 hour.
6. When it’s cooked let it cool and take off the wrapper
7. Roll in grated coconut and sprinkle with sugar.
 
Tips
Mixing some pandan liquid with the rice will make it have a nice aroma and give a nice green color to the rice.
Tie it with a bamboo strip as tight as possible to make the rice texture firm and chewy.

Tips
Fully ripe namwah bananas will give a sweet taste.
