            The cooking method is referred to as “chio”. Some recipes call for one beaten egg to be added to it at the last minute of cooking. It is served with fresh or roasted chilies or roasted dried bird chilies. (Siwan Chamrat, personal communication, June 14, 2007)
 
Ingredients
1. Tip of Horse radish tree100 Gm.
2. Chopped Garlic1 Tbsp.
3. Chopped Shallots1 Tbsp.
4. Shrimp paste1/2 Tbsp.
5. Boiled Fermented fish1/2 Tbsp.
6. Salt1/4 Tsp.

1. Bring water to a boil and add fermented fish, shrimp paste, garlic, shallots and salt.
2. Bring to a boil again and then add Marum.
3. Cook 5 minutes longer or until the Marum becomes tender. Turn off the stove.
 
Tips
Add Marum while the soup is boiling. It becomes tender in just a short time.
