            This is a thick, dry chili dish and any kind of fresh chilies can be used. Wasps can be steamed or grilled in banana leaves. Baby bees (larvae) or other kinds of edible insects can be used so the taste will be slightly different and the names vary according to the ingredients, e.g. namphrik phueng for the kind with bee larvae. 1. Steam wasp larvae
2. Peel chilies, shallots and garlic and pound together to pulverize them.
3. Add the wasp larvae and pound some more. Stir until blended.
 
Tips
The wasps and their nest can be steamed together and then discard the nest.
Tips
The young wasps or larvae are preferable as the mature ones have a shell.
