            This kind of chili dish is rather dry and very thick. Use fresh chilies of any kind. Other kinds of edible insects or larvae can be used instead of mola crickets which will be called by the name of the insects used as the main ingredients such as wasp, grasshopper or bee larvae (namphrik to, namphrik taen and namphrik phueng respectively) (Siriphon Prongkham, personal communication, June 21, 2007)

1. Mola crickets1 Cup
2. Roasted Chili spur pepper2 0
3. Roasted Shallots3 0
4. Roasted Garlic5 Cloves
5. Chopped Garlic1 Tbsp.
6. Vegetable oil2 Tbsp.

1. Brown chopped garlic in oil and put in the crickets to be cooked and set aside.
2. Pound together the chilies, shallots, garlic and salt until pulverized.
3. Add the crickets and pulverize the mixture
 
Tips
Add some salt while frying the crickets to get rid of the bad smell.
Tips
Select mola crickets that are fresh and firm.
