Popular activities on this occasion involve lighting candles in clay holders and lanterns to pay homage to the five Buddhas, launching kites or hot air balloons as well as fireworks, decorating houses and temples with ceremonial gates, making merit as a temple and listening to the great sermons of "Maha Chat".
