His Excellency Sunthon Hongladarom, President of Chiang Mai University, presided over the Ceremony to Pay Respect to the Teachers of the academic year 1967 at the Salatham on the Chiang Mai University campus.
The ceremony began at 1.00 p.m. After the chairperson lit the candles and incense sticks to pay respect to the Buddhist Triple Gems, the students recited the ceremonial passages to express their love, respect and gratitude towards all teachers. After that, the President and representatives of various businesses and organizations presented scholarships to students from all the faculties for the academic year 1967.
Then, the President gave thanks to those who contributed to the scholarships to facilitate and assist the students whose academic performance was excellent but who lacked resources for their education. These contributions greatly helped the countrys development. It was a fundamental investment to produce quality personnel to improve our country.
The president also addressed the students, emphasizing their role and duties whether great or small. He encouraged the students to build good human relationships among themselves and assist one another without taking advantage of others, which would bring them success. He cautioned them as well on motorcycle riding for them to be especially careful to ensure their safety.
He ended the speech wishing all of them success in their study and goodl life so that they could be a great support to the country.
