On September 27, 1962 Prince Vajiralongkorn ad Princess Ubonrattana Ratchakanya visited and observed the Hawer Hunter jet fighters of the 20th Squadron of the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom that has be stationed at the Chiang Mai Airport in May 1962 according to the Thai Governments request as a member of the SEATO during the Indo-China crisis. Wing Commander Iean Pedder, commander of the 20th Squadron came to greet them.
The 20th Squadron of the Royal Air Force was established in 1915 and was sent on a mission in France during the WW I where it was stationed until the war ended.
