Ox carts parked in front of the Railway Hotel on Charoen Mueang Road. The elders said that before cars were brought here there were ox cart taxis parked along the road sides.

Photo taken from the entrance to the Railway Station, 2008. Part of the hotel today has been fenced and constructed into a public park on the State Railway of Thailand property by the Chiang Mai City Municipality. The Municipality has rented the land to build this public park with small shops and a police booth next to the road.
