The museum was located in the compound of Wat Phra That Haripunchai Woramahawihan on the west side. The collection comprised some important ancient objects excavated around Lamphun and neighboring provinces including some inscription stones in the northern regions. It was intended to be situated outside the temple. And it was later relocated toward the back and behind the temple on Inthayongyot Road at present
