������������Police General Prasert Rujirawong has been a person who unselfishly tried his best to maintain his good reputation related to politics, administration, social welfare, public relief in all kind of disasters and tirelessly promoting peace and happiness of the country while setting a good example for those under his command. In academic circles, Police General Prasert Rujirawong participated in academic progress and advancement in terms of education and research. During his term as the president of Chiang Mai University, he was constantly improving the welfare of the faculty and staff members, university officers and students especially by establishing the Rujirawong Welfare Fund and constructing the Rujirawong Swimming Pool without using the National budget. Although His Excellency, Police General Prasert Rujirawong has resigned from the position of the president of Chiang Mai University according to government policy, the Chiang Mai Council has unanimously appointed His Excellency to take the position of Chairman of the Committee to Promote Chiang Mai University to contribute to the benefit and the prosperity of the university further to match His Excellencys honor and reputation of a Political Scientist. On this occasion, the Chiang Mai University Council deems it most appropriate to confer on His Excellency Police General Prasert Rujirawong the Honorary Doctorate Degree (Political Science) of Chiang Mai University, to be graciously presented by His Majesty, the King.
