Wat Duang Di is on Phrapokklao Road, Tambon Siphum, Mueang District, Chiang Mai. There is no evidence of when it was built. However, it is estimated to have been built before 1761. Accordingly, there was a rivalry among the rulers of Chiang Mai in that year, in which Chao Pad asked Chao Khi Hud of Wat Duang Di to rule the city. Therefore, it is clear that the temple had been built a long time before and was a significant temple where people worshiped.
One or the buildings in the temple is the tripitaka scripture library built in the time of Chao Upparach Mahawong in 1829. The structure was of a mondop style with a three-level tiered roof. The walls were decorated with stucco in floral designs. Repair and renovation marks have been found where some parts of the patterns are mixtures of old and new stucco. Because of the meaning of the temples name the temple of good luck, each day a number of people would come to present offerings to protect them from bad luck.
