Queen Rambhai Barni, the royal consort of King Rama VII, visited Wat Phra That Haripunchai Woramahawihan, Mueang District, Lampang Province. The visitor registry book of the temple indicates that the event took place in 1967. The abbot of the temple at that time was Phra Thepmuni. Upon her arrival, the queen went straight into the grand wihan to pay respect to the principle Buddha image and to look at some temple structures and chedis. Then the governor of Lamphun presented to Her Majesty the holy water from Doi Khamo to be put in a pot to be hoisted up to bath the Haripunchai Chedi in which the Buddhas relic fragments were kept. After that, Her Majesty went to view the National Museum of Lamphun Province, which was in the same compound as the temple where a large number of ancient artifacts were collected. Then, the queen went further to visit Pa Sang District before returning to the royal residence.
