Chiang Rai city area, 2008. The wooden shop seen here is on the Khua Dam (black bridge) intersection. The area was originally called the black chicken gate or Pratu Kai Dam and was later transformed to Saphan Dam intersection (Black Bridge Intersection). The Banphaprakan Road is on the right corner heading straight from the Clock Tower which is opposite to Wat Ming Mueang. The buildings and shops along this route used to be all wooden buildings. The building at the corner is the present Saenphu Place Hotel. |
